Tough as old boots like our primroses, hellebores are the perfect partners with glorious harmonising colours of pinks, whites, purples, yellows, greens, some with picotee edging, and others with anemone centres or double flowers. They enjoy similar conditions of dappled shade, well drained humus rich soil and together they declare the coming of spring.  This year saw the flowering of some amazing new plants, lots of doubles, and semi -doubles, anemone centres, and glorious colours, and we wanted to give you the opportunity to grow some too.

The secret of successful hellebore germination is to sow the seeds as early as possible after harvest, between June and August. They should then germinate this winter; otherwise it can take up to 2 years!

We cannot guarantee 100% the colours or forms from our seed, but they have been very carefully hand-pollinated from our excellent breeding stock and you can be sure to have exciting results.
